ABOUT THE PROJECT
One half of the short film will explore the addiction of gambling through the format of a documentary. During this segment, experts from the industry of gambling and individuals related to the addiction will feature within an interview process as they highlight their concerns and voice their opinion. I have contacted ex-politicians, psychologists, and past gamblers alike who are all willing to help with the making of this short film.

The other side of the film will be portrayed through a fictional drama that will highlight the premise of the final major project and the primary problem with the addiction - online gambling. I will create the set of an online casino, where individuals will be seen on electronic devices as they are all gambling online. Within the same room, I will include a roulette table, a casino dealer and a camera crew. The fictional and documentary elements of the production will ultimately highlight the core problems behind the addiction and address how gambling... is a risk that's not worth taking.
Red or Black is a short docufiction film that is based upon the addiction of gambling and specifically the accessibility of online gambling. An eight to ten-minute short film will be divided into two halves in order to address the core problems of gambling and ultimately create the necessary awareness.

Qualitative and quantitative research has been conducted in order to address an audience of 18-35-year-olds and categorically target the male gender. In order to create a realistic portrayal of the addiction, it will be essential to acquire industry experts as well as individuals who have been heavily committed to gambling.

The short film will explore the psychology behind the addiction, and determine the true rationale as to why people feel the need to gamble. Additionally, real-life examples of gambling will enhance the truth and symbolise a genuine depiction of the addiction. Nevertheless, the focus will remain on the online aspects of gambling and how easily gamblers can be exposed to the accessibility of the addiction without any restrictions.
